How to request Third Party Inspections:
The approved inspector/agency must be associated with the builder, or they will not be able to request an inspection. To be associated with a builder go to Build Henrico. Additionally, the approved inspector/agency must obtain pre-approval by contacting our office at 804-501-4360 or by contacting the County Building Inspector assigned to the project. Once approved the following steps must be completed:
- Go to the ‘My Activities tab’ in the customer portal.
- Choose the specific permit from the listed permits and choose ‘Request Inspection’ on the far right. You can also use the search function at the top to search for a specific permit.
- Provide contact phone number, requested date/time/A.M. or P.M. In the special instructions box, provide the name of the inspector/agency, phone number and email address of the inspector.
- Select the type of inspection to be performed.
- Choose ‘Request Inspection’. A confirmation email will be sent.
How to submit the inspection report:
- Go to ‘My Activities tab’ in the customer portal.
- Choose the specific permit from the listed permits and choose ‘Request Inspection’ on the far right.
- Go to the ‘Documents Tab’, scroll down to ‘Upload Supplemental File’.
- Once document is uploaded change ‘Document Type’ from DPW form to “RDP Inspection Report”.
- Scroll down and press save.
- Go back to ‘Documents Tab’ and request another inspection on the far right.
- Provide the contact phone number and the date. In the special instructions box enter the name of the inspector/agency, phone number and email of the inspector. Also, state that the footing inspection report is attached.
- Select the same inspection type that was requested to be performed. A confirmation email will be sent.
