DESCRIPTION:Henrico County’s Juneteenth Celebration\nSaturday\, June 15\, 2024 at Dorey Park\nJoin Henrico Recreation & Parks for a vendor fair\, kids zone\, food trucks\, and entertainment. FREE and open to the public!\nIf you have any questions\, please call (804) 652-1421 or email Juneteenth@henrico.gov. \n\n \nJuneteenth celebrates enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation reaching the westernmost Confederate state of Texas. The CDC recommends sunscreen regardless of age or skin tone. \n\nGetting There\nHenrico County Staff will be directing traffic in and out of the event. Please note: there are two entrances into the park. \nOnce parked\, guests will be walking to the event area along designated paths. \nWe recommend guests take 295. Directions: \n\nTake Exit 22 (Varina)\nTurn right onto Doran Road\nTurn left onto Darbytown Road and follow the direction of Henrico Police\nTurn left into Dorey Park\n\nOnce in the park\, please stay on pedestrian pathways and avoid walking on roadways. \nAt the conclusion of the event\, please plan extra time to leave Dorey Park. Although Henrico County Staff will be assisting with traffic\, there will be a lot of vehicles on the property. \n\nAccessibility & ASL Interpreters\nAccessible parking spaces will be available to those with a disabled license plate or placard. Spots are limited\, and we may be using a golf cart shuttle service to transport guests from reserved handicap parking to the event area. From handicap parking\, guests will need to walk up to 0.1 mile into the event viewing space. Accessible restrooms will be open. \nWe are pleased to offer ASL interpretation at Juneteenth! Look for designated seating areas located near the stage.
