SUMMARY:Sundays at the Shelter | Pet Adoption Event
DESCRIPTION:The Henrico Police Animal Shelter is hosting an outdoor pet adoption event (rain or shine). Cats\, dogs and guinea pigs are looking for loving homes! \nCommunity members are invited to meet pets available for adoption and help future animals in need of care. Thanks to the sponsorships from Henrico Humane Society\, Furbish Thrift and the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation\, any dogs who are already spayed or neutered are ready to go home with their adopters the same day with just a $10 adoption fee. \nPets who have not already been spayed or neutered will have additional fees for their procedures. The spay or neuter will be scheduled upon adoption and will be ready to go home with their families shortly after! \n“Every adoption is a double win for us; a pet goes home with their new family\, and we gain space to support incoming lost and stray animals” said shelter manager Pamela Bridgmon. “Over 100 shelter dogs have found homes as a result of these events in the past 11 months\, thanks to the community and our wonderful volunteers.” \nThese events are wonderful opportunities for attendees to meet our pets in-person and to see who they connect with! \nAdopters must be 18 or older\, but are not required to be Henrico County residents. Adopters will need to have a valid photo ID and pay an adoption fee\, which varies upon the spay/neuter status of the pet. \nAll pets available for adoption can be viewed online on our PetFinder and AdoptaPet pages.

We have cats\, dogs and a rabbit who are ready to start their next chapters. The William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation\, Furbish Thrift and Henrico Humane Society have sponsored the spay and neuter surgeries for cats and dogs. Due to the generosity of these community partners\, many pets are available for a $10 adoption fee and are ready to go home with their new families on the day of the event. \nOther local animal rescues will join the event with adoptable pets\, including Petersburg Animal Care & Control\, Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter\, Louisa County Animal Shelter and Sussex County Animal Control. \nPeople interested in pet adoption will need to bring a photo ID and must be 18 or older. A collar and leash or cat carrier are suggested for your convenience but are not required for bringing your new pet home. Residency of Henrico County is not required to adopt a pet\, only the desire to add a wonderful pet to your family. \nYou can see all the pets available for adoption ahead of time through our PetFinder page. \nFor more event information\, visit our website or call the Henrico Police Animal Shelter at 804-727-8807.

SUMMARY:Sundays at the Shelter | Pet Adoption
