SUMMARY:Pop-up Adoption Event
DESCRIPTION:The Henrico Police Animal Shelter is nearly at full capacity and will host an outdoor pop-up adoption event for dogs and cats (rain or shine). \nCommunity members are invited to meet pets available for adoption and help future animals in need of care. Henrico Humane Society and Ring Dog Rescue have sponsored the vaccines and spay/neuter procedures for all adoptable dogs\, and many pets are ready to go home with their adopters the same day. \n“There are several pets who have been under our care since January\,” said shelter manager Pamela Bridgmon. “Our shelter is critically full\, especially for dogs. Every adoption is a double win for us; a pet goes home with their new family\, and we gain space to support incoming lost and stray animals.” \nAdopters must be 18 or older\, but are not required to be Henrico County residents. Adopters will need to have a valid photo ID and pay a $10 fee. \nAll pets available for adoption can be viewed on: https://bit.ly/petfinderhenrico

SUMMARY:Fixin' to go Home Adoption Event
DESCRIPTION:The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter will hold an adoption event on Saturday\, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 10421 Woodman Road\, Glen Allen\, VA 23060. \nOur shelter is nearing maximum capacity\, and our goal is to find homes for the animals currently in our care so that they can start their next chapter with loving families! We have cats\, dogs and a guinea pig currently looking for homes. The William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation\, Furbish Thrift and Henrico Humane Society have sponsored the spay and neuter surgeries for cats and dogs. Due to the generosity of these community partners\, many pets are available for a $10 adoption fee and are ready to go home with their new families on the day of the event. \nAdopting a pet is long-term commitment\, and one that we think is so worth it! Please talk to our staff if you need any recommendations on finding a veterinarian\, groomer\, or other animal care services. \nPeople interested in pet adoption will need to bring a photo ID and must be 18 or older. A collar and leash or cat carrier are suggested for your convenience but are not required for bringing your new pet home. \nYou can see all the pets available for adoption ahead of time through our PetFinder and AdoptaPet pages. \nFor more information\, contact the Henrico Police Animal Shelter by calling 804-727-8807\, or by visiting our website: https://henrico.gov/police/animal-protection-unit/
