SUMMARY:Pop-up Adoption Event
DESCRIPTION:The Henrico Police Animal Shelter is nearly at full capacity and will host an outdoor pop-up adoption event for dogs and cats (rain or shine). \nCommunity members are invited to meet pets available for adoption and help future animals in need of care. Henrico Humane Society and Ring Dog Rescue have sponsored the vaccines and spay/neuter procedures for all adoptable dogs\, and many pets are ready to go home with their adopters the same day. \n“There are several pets who have been under our care since January\,” said shelter manager Pamela Bridgmon. “Our shelter is critically full\, especially for dogs. Every adoption is a double win for us; a pet goes home with their new family\, and we gain space to support incoming lost and stray animals.” \nAdopters must be 18 or older\, but are not required to be Henrico County residents. Adopters will need to have a valid photo ID and pay a $10 fee. \nAll pets available for adoption can be viewed on: https://bit.ly/petfinderhenrico

The park is open all day to the general public. \nQ: How many people can ride in the basket at one time?\nA: Typically\, four people can go on a ride. The weight limit is 800 lbs. The ride operators will max out each ride. \nQ: How long is each ride?\nA: The ride lasts 3-5 minutes and goes about 30 feet in the air. \nQ: Are the balloons accessible?\nA: As long as you can step over a curb\, you can get into the balloon basket. However\, with even the slightest wind\, the basket will rock\, making it troublesome for anyone with difficulty balancing or holding themselves up. Walkers can fit in the basket. The basket door most likely won’t be wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs. \nQ: Is the kid zone free?\nA: YES! \n\nPlease note:  All balloon activities are sensitive to wind and rain. \nPresented by Henrico Federal Credit Union and Recreation & Parks. \nFor any questions\, email rec-eventsteam@henrico.gov \n\nYou can now get event updates in your inbox!
