DESCRIPTION:Henrico residents are encouraged to help shape the county’s future by participating in a series of open house-style meetings hosted by the Department of Planning between April 14 and May 5.   The meetings\, called Suggestion Sessions\, are part of the HenricoNEXT process to update the county’s comprehensive plan. They will offer the public an opportunity to review draft maps showing potential land use designations for properties in the county. Community members are encouraged to attend a meeting at the location and time most convenient for them. Planning staff will be available to show maps for a particular property or neighborhood as well as explain zoning\, answer questions\, and collect feedback. Residents are encouraged to bring a smartphone or tablet to facilitate the collection of input. In addition to being available at the Suggestion Sessions\, the draft land use maps will be available at henriconext.us beginning the afternoon of April 14. Reports and other information also are available on the website. Public comments provided at the meetings and through the website will be considered before the land use maps are revised for eventual review and approval by the Planning Commission\, and the Board of Supervisors.

The park is open all day to the general public. \nQ: How many people can ride in the basket at one time?\nA: Typically\, four people can go on a ride. The weight limit is 800 lbs. The ride operators will max out each ride. \nQ: How long is each ride?\nA: The ride lasts 3-5 minutes and goes about 30 feet in the air. \nQ: Are the balloons accessible?\nA: As long as you can step over a curb\, you can get into the balloon basket. However\, with even the slightest wind\, the basket will rock\, making it troublesome for anyone with difficulty balancing or holding themselves up. Walkers can fit in the basket. DESCRIPTION:The Henrico County Police Animal Protection Unit will hold its Rabies Clinic on May 17\, 2025\, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Western Government Complex (4301 E. Parham Road). \nRabies vaccinations are $20 each\, cash only! Cats must be in carriers. \nRegistration and payment are done first inside the Administration building at the Cashier’s office. You will then proceed to veterinarian on the first level of the parking deck adjacent to the Administration Building. \nHenrico County dog licenses will also be available. The lifetime license fee is $10. The license is for the life of the dog and is valid as long as the dog’s owner resides in the County and the dog’s rabies vaccination is kept current. The license is void if the dog does not receive a rabies vaccination within 30 days of the expiration of the dog’s current rabies vaccination. \nContact the Henrico Police Animal Shelter at 804-727-8801 (open Monday-Saturday\, 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.) with any further questions.
