DESCRIPTION:Since 1619\, people of African ancestry have been woven into the American tapestry. Our Faces of Freedom event celebrates Africans and African Americans from the 1600s to today. \nAtumpan will perform traditional dance with drums to honor the first Africans. Then look no further than the Henrico County Police Division! \nHenrico Police is hosting a Career & Hiring event on Saturday\, June 28\, 2025\, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Henrico County Training Center (7701 E. Parham Road). \n \nThis is an opportunity to learn about our agency’s role within the county which includes providing innovative and collaborative police services for a safe and thriving Henrico. \nWe are currently hiring for our 85th Basic Police Academy (BPA) and Modified Academy. Our BPA has an anticipated start date of January 26\, 2026. New police recruits have a starting salary of $64\,038\, effective July 1\, 2025. Virginia DCJS and Out-of-State certified police officers may be eligible for a higher salary depending upon experience. \nWhat to bring:\nIf you plan on attending the job fair\, please bring two of the following items with you: \n\nDriver’s License\nPassport\nSocial Security Card\nBirth Certificate\n\nYou’re also encouraged to bring your highest level of education transcripts and any other applicable document with you. \nWhat to expect:\nWe will be offering on-site preliminary interviews at this event! There will also be opportunities to take part in the Physical Agility Test\, which is a requirement in our hiring process. Candidates are encouraged to wear workout-appropriate attire if they plan to take part in the physical agility test at the event. \nThe Henrico Police Division will also have additional resources on-site in case you would like to bring your family along. \nRSVP:\nYou’re encouraged to RSVP to this event by signing up via the Indeed event posting. This will allow us to send out reminders leading up to the event. \nHow to attend:\nThere will be a message board at the complex entry point. Follow directions to the training center and park in the available parking spaces within the complex. Enter the building with the balloons at the outside entrance.
