SUMMARY:Clear the Shelter Pet Adoption Event
DESCRIPTION:The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter will hold an adoption event Saturday\, August 15 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 10421 Woodman Road. \nDuring the month of August\, organizations across the country are encouraged to “Clear the Shelter\,” as part of an initiative founded 12 years ago by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and NBCUniversal Local. The county shelter is coordinating with community partners to host a local Clear the Shelter event to find loving homes for dogs\, cats\, rabbits and guinea pigs. Thanks to the Henrico Humane Society\, Furbish Thrift and the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation\, many of our pets will be up to date on their vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures\, which means they will be ready to go home with their new families upon adoption. \nMany local animal groups will be attending with adoptable animals:\n– Cumberland County Animal Control – view Cumberland’s pets online\n– Hanover County Animal Protection – view Hanover’s pets online\n– Henrico County Police Animal Shelter – view Henrico’s Pets online\n– Louisa County Animal Shelter – view Louisa’s pets online\n– Petersburg Animal Care & Control – view Petersburg’s pets online\n– Sussex County Animal Shelter – view Sussex’s pets online \nFor those interested in adopting a pet:– Must be 18 or older– Bring a valid photo ID– Pay an adoption fee (varies by shelter and spay/neuter status)*Adopters do NOT have to be residents of a locality to adopt from its shelter. \nIf there’s a particular pet \nAll Henrico pets available for adoption can be found online on PetFinder. \nFor more information\, visit the shelter’s website or call the Henrico County Police Animal Shelter at 804-727-8807.
