Supplier Relations

Procurement and Supplier Relations

The County of Henrico promotes and facilitates the participation of small businesses, businesses owned by women, minorities, and service disabled veterans and employment service organizations in all County procurements.  This is achieved through:

  • Actively promoting the procurement or lease of goods, services, insurance and construction from small businesses, women, minority, and service disabled veteran businesses and employment service organizations in an equally competitive manner;
  • Soliciting small businesses, women, minority, and service disabled veteran businesses and employment service organizations whenever they are potential sources; and
  • Participating to the maximum extent possible in all local, regional, and national conferences and events involving small businesses, women, minority, and service disabled veteran businesses and employment service organizations.

The County of Henrico has spent more than $1.4 billion with small businesses, businesses owned by women, minorities, and service disabled veterans and employment service organizations since 2014.  As a result, the County of Henrico has been recognized for its efforts and successes in diversity and an inclusive supply chain by the Capital Area Purchasing Association, Metropolitan Business League, National Minority Supplier Development Council and the Institute of Public Procurement.

The County of Henrico is “Open for Business” for all suppliers.  Annette Ross, Senior Management Specialist, is the Supplier Relations Manager and is available to meet with suppliers interested in doing business with the County and provide general guidance for doing business with other local, state and federal government entities.
