Henrico enhanced public transit service, with expanded routes and operating hours, to increase access to jobs, shopping and other services throughout the county.
The improvements represent the largest expansion of GRTC Transit System service in Henrico during the past 25 years. The Board of Supervisors approved additional funding for GRTC in the county’s budget for fiscal year 2018-19.
With the expanded routes, more than 6,000 Henrico businesses will be within a short walk from a GRTC stop. The expanded service in Henrico also will increase access to GRTC’s new Pulse system. Pulse is a modern, high-capacity rapid transit system that serves a 7.6-mile route along Broad Street and Main Street, from Rocketts Landing on the Henrico-Richmond border through downtown to Willow Lawn in Henrico.
