Some services temporarily reduced to limit spread of coronavirus
Henrico County’s government offices will reopen Tuesday, March 17 following a day of planning and intensive cleaning prompted by the global outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
County operations will resume at reduced levels, with some facilities, including libraries and recreation centers, closed and some services limited or suspended. Additional cleaning will occur in all facilities.
In keeping with public health recommendations for slowing spread of COVID-19, the public is encouraged to access services electronically or by phone, rather than in person.
“We are committed to providing services at the levels our community expects,” County Manager John A. Vithoulkas said. “However, our county — like our nation and world — faces a public health threat that requires immediate, drastic action to ensure the health and well-being of our residents. We urge everyone to follow the CDC’s safety precautions by washing their hands frequently, practicing ‘social distancing’ and avoiding crowds and large gatherings.”
