Henrico offices, facilities and courts to be closed Tuesday following winter storm

Henrico County general government offices and facilities and Henrico courts and clerks’ offices will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 27, due to the effects of the winter storm.

The Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, as scheduled, at the Henrico County Government Center. For the 6 p.m. regular meeting, county staff and the public are encouraged to participate remotely via Webex. The agenda, guidance for remote participation and other information is at henrico.gov/supervisors/next-meeting/.

The public is asked to avoid nonessential travel, as crews continue to focus on clearing primary and secondary roads. The Department of Public Works expects to begin assessing later today when crews might be able to begin clearing neighborhood and side streets.

The public is reminded to call 911 for emergencies and the Police Division’s nonemergency number 804-501-5000 for other health and safety needs.

Trash pickup will not occur Tuesday and is expected to resume Wednesday on a two-day delay. Residents are encouraged to keep their carts by the curb or road’s edge until pickup occurs. The Springfield Road and Charles City Road public-use areas will be closed Tuesday and are expected to open Wednesday on a delay.
