Henrico mourns retired County Manager William LaVecchia upon his death

Noted for his compassion, vision and professionalism, he led the county’s administration from 1984 to 1992.

Henrico County is honoring the life and service of retired County Manager William F. “Bill” LaVecchia, whose warmth, sincerity, vision and expertise allowed Henrico to prosper through decades of considerable growth.

Henrico updates masking requirements for county buildings

Effective Thursday, Aug. 12, all individuals are required to wear a face covering inside Henrico County buildings and facilities. This requirement is for visitors as well as employees, regardless of their vaccination status.

This requirement is based on recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Richmond and Henrico Health Districts. It is made in light of the local spread of the delta variant of the virus and a recent increase of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Henrico and across the region.

The caller had a request on behalf of her neighbors and ended up sharing a craving of her own.

She contacted Henrico County’s Outreach Call Center for Older Residents on Tuesday to see if residents of her retirement community could be made aware of the new service.

Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Richmond to close offices Monday

All government offices and facilities in the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover and Henrico and the city of Richmond will be closed Monday, March 16 for planning and to begin additional cleaning in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. The closures are designed to ensure the health and safety of residents, employees and the general public. Designated personnel will report for work; operations to ensure public safety and public health will not be impacted.

Topgolf opens in Westwood, drives reinvestment in ‘Scott’s Addition 2.0’

Henrico County officials helped celebrate the opening of Topgolf’s first golf and entertainment venue in the region.

But the three-level, 55,000-square-foot, high-tech complex represents more than a new recreational and social option for residents.
