Henrico Extension, Master Gardeners to offer 10-part Homeowner Horticulture class

The Henrico County office of the Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Henrico Master Gardeners will offer a 10-week series of classes to show residents how to follow environmentally sustainable gardening practices.

The Henrico Homeowner Horticulture Series will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, April 2 through June 4 in the demonstration kitchen of the Human Services Building, 8600 Dixon Powers Drive. The deadline to register is Tuesday, April 1. The $25 fee for the entire series includes a binder and materials.

Henrico Master Gardeners will explain how to improve soil for horticulture, create compost, establish and maintain a healthy lawn, renovate existing landscapes, select and care for a variety of plants, start a vegetable garden, grow fruit and manage insects and disease.
