The Administration Annex, located in the Western Government complex, houses many general government departments and agencies.

The Eastern Government Center in Henrico County is a multi-use facility located at the corner of Nine Mile and Dabbs House roads.

The L.A. Harris, Jr. Courts Building houses the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, Circuit Court Judges Chambers, Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and General District Court Clerk’s Office.

In many instances, a citizen's first contact with Virginia’s Judicial System is with a magistrate. A principal function of a magistrate is to provide an independent, unbiased review of complaints of criminal conduct brought by law enforcement or the general public.

The Western Government Center houses many general government departments and agencies.

The Animal Protection Police Unit is comprised of well-trained sworn and civilian staff members providing the following services to Henrico County citizens.

This Public Use Area is located in eastern Henrico on Charles City Road.

The Department of Community Revitalization was created in 2004 to coordinate the County’s revitalization programs and services intended to promote healthy, vibrant and attractive residential, commercial and industrial communities.

The mission of Emergency Management & Workplace Safety (EMWS) is to create and foster a safe, sound, and prepared public environment for residents, visitors, contractors, and employees. This is achieved by developing and maintaining a culture of safety and preparedness for everyone.

Employee Health Services (EHS) provides Henrico County employees with an on-site medical clinic. Our priority is providing work-related services, but we are also available to see employees for personal health and wellness concerns.

The new Health Department East Clinic was opened on September 8, 2014. It is conveniently located next to the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center on North Laburnum Avenue between Harvie Road and Creighton Road. It is easily accessible with a GRTC bus stop nearby and onsite parking for clients.

The Henrico Sports & Events Center is a multi-purpose events facility built to deliver a quality experience for athletes and spectators. The center provides a unique blend of competition and entertainment space, as well as amenities that can handle everything from a national championship event to a community gathering.

This facility houses the Department of Social Services, which provides financial assistance and social services programs that effectively assist individuals and families to meet their basic human needs, increase their capacity to function independently, and to provide protection for abused and neglected children, and aged and disabled adults.

The department of Juvenile Domestic Relations is housed at this facility.

The Purchasing Division provides a centralized purchasing system for general government and schools to comply with statutory requirements, as well as to assure the purchase of all goods and services needed by all departments and agencies are procured at the most economical price.

The Division of Recreation & Parks offers citizens a variety of programs and activities for all ages. They also oversee the development, construction, and maintenance of many parks, recreation facilities, athletic complexes, and historic sites throughout Henrico County.

Henrico County Regional Jail East was built as part of a regional agreement between Goochland, Henrico and New Kent counties and is maintained and secured by the Henrico County Sheriff and the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office.

Henrico County Regional Jail West is a maximum security facility that houses both pre-trial and post-trial inmates. It is also the headquarters of the Office of the Sheriff, Administrative Services, Court Services and Human Resources.

This facility is maintained for household use only and is not for commercial business.

This Public Use Area is located in western Henrico next to the closed Springfield Road Landfill.

The Training Center opened in 1998 so county agencies would have access to a central training and meeting location to support their operation and ensure the successful future of Henrico County. The first two floors consist of approximately 60,000 square feet of building space and provide state-of-the-art classrooms, offices and multi-use areas.

Henrico WIC Information, Nutrition education and food vouchers for pregnant, breast-feeding women, and children up to age five. Eligibility is based on nutritional needs and income.

Fairfield Area Library moved to its new location, a 10-acre site at the southeast corner of Laburnum Avenue and Watts Lane, in October 2019. The library replaced an aging facility originally opened in 1976. The new Fairfield Area Library is a two-story, 44,803 sq. foot facility.

The Gayton Branch Library opened in 1988 to provide service to the far West End of Henrico County. In June of 2012, a beautifully renovated Gayton Branch opened with a comfortable, open interior, a new teen space, an updated collection, a remodeled meeting room with new technologies, an improved quiet study area, more self check machines, automated book returns, and a lovely garden.

The original Glen Allen Branch Library opened in August, 1995, to provide library services to the northern part of the Brookland District. It reopened in October 2010 with more than 25,000 square feet, doubling it from the original size and retaining the beauty of the wood-accented interior and comfortable spaces filled with natural light.

Libbie Mill Area Library is the centerpiece of the Libbie Mill Midtown development, on Staples Mill Road south of I-64. The building features 39,915 square feet of library space over two floors, and a third floor with an additional 20,060 square feet available for future expansion.

The Administrative Offices are responsible for conducting the general business functions of the public library system which includes five area libraries and four branch libraries. The Library Director, the Assistant Library Director and staff listed below have their offices at this location.

The North Park Branch Library opened to the public on September 10, 2001. It replaced a temporary 1,700 square ft. structure located at the corner of Brook and Parham Roads, in operation since 1985. The light-filled and contemporary North Park Branch is conveniently located a half mile from I-95 and is adjacent to two office parks on East Parham Road and several residential neighborhoods.

Sandston Branch Library's current structure occupies the same site on Williamsburg Road where the first public library in Henrico stood from 1923 until 1980. An overall renovation and major addition took place in 2003 which added study rooms and a bright and spacious meeting room. In 2022 a complete building refresh was completed on the 7833 sq. ft. building.

The spacious and light-filled Tuckahoe Area Library opened in its present location in October of 2006. It replaced the previous Tuckahoe library facility built in 1971. The newer two-story library increased in size to 53,000 sq. feet. Tuckahoe features a convenient drive-thru book return and pick-up window, a colorful puzzle-themed children's area and storytime room, a quiet reading room & more.

The Twin Hickory Area Library opened in its present location in July of 2007. It replaced the Innsbrook Branch facility built in 1992. The 40,000 sq. ft two-story library features a striking brown flagstone and brick façade and large windows that offer natural light throughout the building.

Varina Area Library opened on June 1, 2016 on a 22.11 acre site bound by Pocahontas Parkway & New Market Road (State Route 5). As an Area Library with 43,885 square feet and two stories of space, Varina offers amenities similar to other Area Libraries throughout the county including a digital media lab, drive-up service window, and spaces for collaboration, study and relaxation.

Offering adult mental health, substance abuse outpatient services, child and adolescent services, case management for individuals with mental health and intellectual disabilities.

CARF accredited programs, Engagement, and Community Integration for those who benefit with Intellectual and Developmental services.

Services include Adult Mental Health and Substance Abuse Outpatient Services; Infant, Child and Adolescent Services; and Case Management for individuals with Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities.

CARF accredited programs include Intellectual and Developmental Services Group Day programs; Intellectual and Developmental Services Community Integration and Engagement programs; and Group and Individual Supported Employment.

Lakeside Center is a day support program that provides psycho-educational, social and recreational opportunities serving individuals with serious mental illness.

Services include Adult Mental Health Outpatient Services; Infant, Child and Adolescent Services; and Case Management for individuals with Mental Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities.

Offering adult mental health, substance abuse, outpatient services and case management for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The Police Division’s Central Station serves as satellite station for Henrico Police officers to conduct police business, hold briefings, and provide information to citizens.

Fire Station 1 opened in 1971 and is home to the Technical Rescue Team. It houses the following apparatus: Engine 301, Truck 301, Medic 301, Heavy Rescue 301 and Fuel 301.

Henrico County VA Fire Station 2 is one of two fire stations that house the Search and Rescue Dive Team. It also houses Engine 302, Fire Medic 302, Brush 302, EMS 302 and Division's marine unit.

Fire Station 3 serves the Highland Springs area and is home to Engine 303, Brush 303, Medic 303, Ambulance 389 and Battalion Chief 302.

Fire Station 4 opened in 1964. It is home to Engine 304, Medic 304, Tanker 304, and Brush 304.

Fire Station 5 serves the Lakeside community. Fire Station 5 currently houses Engine 305, Medic 305, and Battalion Chief 303.

Fire Station 6, the Eastover Gardens Fire Station, opened at its present location in 1969 and is one of the busiest fire stations in the county, and home to Engine 306, Truck 306, and Medic 306.

Fire Station 7 serves the Glenwood Farms area of Henrico County. It is home to Engine 307, Medic 307, and Air Utility 307.

The current fire station opened on October 8, 2011 replacing the original fire station which was placed in service on October 29, 1949 at the same location. It currently houses Engine 308, Attack Pumper 308, and a Reserve Engine.

Fire station 9 protects the Regency area is home to Engine 309, Medic 9 and Ambulance 388.

Fire Station 10 is home to Engine 310 and Truck 310. Fire station 10 was the first fire station in Henrico County to have a truck company which was originally named Aerial 1.

Fire Station 11 first opened in the northern district in 1964. It houses Engine 311 and Medic 311.

Firehouse 12 is also known as the West End Manor Firehouse. It is home to Engine 312, Truck 312, Medic 312, and EMS 1.

Fire Station 13, The Gayton Area Fire Station, is home to Engine 313, Rescue 313, and Medic 313.

Internally known as "The Elko Outpost", Fire Station 14 serves the greater Elko and White Oak communities. The fire station is home to Engine 314, Tanker 314, and Medic 314.

Fire Station 15, the Glen Allen Area Firehouse is the home of Engine 315, Tanker 315 and Brush 315. and Medic 315. The Glen Allen Firehouse is the home of the Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Support Team , Incident Support Unit (ISU 300), Special Event Trailer (SET) and Western Shelter.

Fire Station16 serves the Shady Grove area of Henrico County. The fire station houses Engine 316, Medic 316, and Brush 316.

Fire station 17 is home to the following apparatus: Engine 317, SR4 (2000 Ford F550 double cab), SR1 (1999 Pierce Freightliner), and other boats. Fire Station 17 is one of two fire stations that hosts the Search and Rescue Dive Team.

Fire Station 18 is a 10,330 square foot station located in the eastern district of the county. Fire Station 18 houses Engine 318, Squad 318, Tanker 318, and Brush 318.

Fire Station 19 opened in Spring 2018 to serve the western community of Henrico County. This fire station is home to Engine 319, Medic 319, Truck 319 and the Robotics Response Team.

Fire Station 20 opened in 2023. It houses the following apparatus: Engine 320 and Medic 320.

Fire Station 21 serves the Virginia Center area of Henrico County and is home to Engine 321, Rescue 321, District Chief 310, HazMat 1, HazMat 2, and HazMat 3. Fire Station 21 is home to the Hazardous Incident Team

Fire Station 22 is in the western area of Henrico County. This fire station is home to Engine 322, Truck 322, Medic 322, and Battalion Chief 301.

Henrico Firehouse 23 opened in Varina’s Bungalow City neighborhood on February 12, 2025. Construction began in August 2023 and cost an estimated $14.5 million, which was funded by the 2016 Bond Referendum. Fire Station 23  houses Engine 323 and Medic 323.
