The philosophy of the Henrico County Juvenile Detention Home is to hold in secure custody or on Detention Outreach and Electronic Monitoring those juveniles who, by statutory criteria, require such restraint for either their own or the community’s protection. The objectives of the facility is to provide protection, safe care, basic needs and services as required by the Juveniles and Domestic Relations Court Law (Title 16.1 Code of Virginia) and pursuant to Standards for Secure Detention and Detention Outreach as approved by the State Department of Juvenile Justice and Interdepartmental Regulations.
