Extension Bug Bizarre to celebrate the study of insects Oct. 12 at Deep Run Recreation Center

The Henrico Extension Bug Bizarre, a community festival celebrating the joy and excitement of entomology, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Deep Run Recreation Center, 9900 Ridgefield Parkway.

The free event will feature live insects and other insect-related displays, including hissing cockroaches, tarantulas and a “bug zoo.” Experts will share information on a variety of subjects, including pollinators, garden insects, forest pests and public health. All ages are welcome and the event will offer children’s activities.

The Henrico Bug Bizarre is being organized and presented by the Henrico County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension in cooperation with the Henrico Division of Recreation & Parks.
