Henrico County 4-H Youth Development will hold a workshop to give third through fifth graders an opportunity to explore food security and the challenges and opportunities in creating a sustainable food system.
The Food for Thought STEM Workshop will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 3 and again Saturday, May 17 at Children of God Victory Tabernacle, 1146 Wilkinson Road. The cost of participating is $30. Registration will be available online through Monday, April 7.
The workshop will use STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in thought-provoking games and activities that explore such topics as the global food supply chain, ways to reduce food waste and controlled-environment agriculture.
