Derbyshire Rd Pedestrian and Roadway Improvements

Project Status: Underway - Design

Estimated Cost: 2.5 million
Start Date: 2024
Estimated End Date: 2028

Magisterial District:   Tuckahoe

The Henrico County Department of Public Works is constructing a roundabout with pedestrian crossings and pedestrian lights on Derbyshire Road at its intersection with Heathfield Road and Lakewater Drive. This is expected to be completed by late summer. Due to resident concerns with speeding and cut-through traffic, the roundabout will be constructed in the existing right-of-way.

The roundabout is part of a larger project to enhance safety, access, and connectivity in the area. Other potential improvements remain under design and include:

  • A paved shared-use path on the north side of Derbyshire
  • Additional pedestrian crossings
  • Addition of a left turn lane at N Mooreland Rd.

Please continue to check back for updates as design and improvements progress.
