The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter will hold an adoption event Saturday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 10421 Woodman Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
During the month of August, organizations across the country are encouraged to “Clear the Shelter,” as part of an initiative founded 11 years ago by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and NBCUniversal Local. The county shelter is coordinating with community partners to host a local Clear the Shelter event to find loving homes for dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Thanks to the Henrico Humane Society, Furbish Thrift and the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation, many of our pets will be up to date on their vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures, which means they will be ready to go home with their new families upon adoption. The Sussex County Animal Shelter will be joining the event with adoptable pets as well.
For those interested in adopting a pet:
– Must be 18 or older
– Bring a valid photo ID
– Pay an adoption fee
*Adopters do NOT have to be residents of Henrico County
All pets available for adoption can be found online on PetFinder.
