Animal Protection - The Animal Protection Police Unit is comprised of well-trained sworn and civilian staff members providing the following services to Henrico County citizens.

Charles City Road Public Use Area (East)

Community Revitalization - The Department of Community Revitalization was created in 2004 to coordinate the County’s revitalization programs and services intended to promote healthy, vibrant and attractive residential, commercial and industrial communities.

Economic Development Authority and Sports & Entertainment Authority

Emergency Management and Workplace Safety - The mission of Emergency Management & Workplace Safety (EMWS) is to create and foster a safe, sound, and prepared public environment for residents, visitors, contractors, and employees. This is achieved by developing and maintaining a culture of safety and preparedness for everyone.

Employee Health Services - Employee Health Services (EHS) provides Henrico County employees with an on-site medical clinic. Our priority is providing work-related services, but we are also available to see employees for personal health and wellness concerns.

Health Department East Clinic - The new Health Department East Clinic was opened on September 8, 2014. It is conveniently located next to the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center on North Laburnum Avenue between Harvie Road and Creighton Road. It is easily accessible with a GRTC bus stop nearby and onsite parking for clients.

Human Services and Health - This facility houses the Department of Social Services, which provides financial assistance and social services programs that effectively assist individuals and families to meet their basic human needs, increase their capacity to function independently, and to provide protection for abused and neglected children, and aged and disabled adults.

Juvenile Court & Detention Center - The department of Juvenile Domestic Relations is housed at this facility.

Purchasing - The Purchasing Division provides a centralized purchasing system for general government and schools to comply with statutory requirements, as well as to assure the purchase of all goods and services needed by all departments and agencies are procured at the most economical price. This division is also charged with the responsibility of conducting periodic sales of surplus items which are no longer needed by the County or the school system and disposal of unclaimed merchandise and personal property collected by the Division of Police.

Recreation and Parks - The Division of Recreation & Parks offers citizens a variety of programs and activities for all ages. They also oversee the development, construction, and maintenance of many parks, recreation facilities, athletic complexes, and historic sites throughout Henrico County.

Regional Jail East - Henrico County Regional Jail East was built as part of a regional agreement between Goochland, Henrico and New Kent counties and is maintained and secured by the Henrico County Sheriff and the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office.

Regional Jail West - Henrico County Regional Jail West is a maximum security facility that houses both pre-trial and post-trial inmates. It is also the headquarters of the Office of the Sheriff, Administrative Services, Court Services and Human Resources.

Shane Road Recycling Center - This facility is maintained for household use only and is not for commercial business.

Springfield Road Public Use Area (West End)

Training Center - The Training Center opened in 1998 so county agencies would have access to a central training and meeting location to support their operation and ensure the successful future of Henrico County. The first two floors consist of approximately 60,000 square feet of building space and provide state-of-the-art classrooms, offices and multi-use areas.

WIC Office Shrader - Henrico WIC Information, Nutrition education and food vouchers for pregnant, breast-feeding women, and children up to age five. Eligibility is based on nutritional needs and income.
