Henrico County Manager John A. Vithoulkas announces the appointment of Anthony J. Romanello as deputy county manager for administration.
Romanello, who currently serves as county administrator of Stafford County, will begin his work in Henrico in mid-September or once his contractual obligations in Stafford are satisfied.
“We are really excited and think Anthony will be a great addition to our team,” Vithoulkas said.
Romanello has served as county administrator of Stafford since January 2008. He previously served as a deputy county administrator of Stafford, town manager of West Point and held several positions with the city of Richmond, including deputy director of human services administration, deputy director of administration of public health and assistant to the city manager.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in history and American government from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
As deputy county manager for administration, Romanello will oversee the departments of Finance, General Services and Information Technology, as well as the Public Library and legislative liaison.
