Brook Road Improvements

Magisterial District:   Fairfield  

The County of Henrico will be constructing improvements along Brook Road from Villa Park Drive to Hilliard Road to improve traffic flow and provide pedestrian accommodations. The following improvements will be constructed, including:

• ​​5’ Sidewalk on the east side of Brook Road.
• ​Pedestrian crossing facilities at various locations.
• ​Access management improvements including concrete medians and turn lanes.
• ​Reconfiguration of the Lakeside Avenue and Brook Road intersection.

Estimated Schedule

• Design is underway.
• Right-of-way acquisition is anticipated to begin ​2nd Quarter, 2026​.
• Utility relocation is anticipated to begin ​2027​.
• Advertisement for construction is anticipated to begin 2028​.
• Construction is anticipated to begin ​2028.

Progress to Date

A ​Public Hearing​ was held on ​2/12/2026​, at the ​Belmont Recreation Center​ from ​5:30 PM​ to ​7:00 PM​.  Materials from the meeting can be found in the Documents section below.
