Garden City Connector Trail

The County of Henrico will be constructing a 12-foot-wide shared use path along the south side of Athens Avenue and Scott Road to Best Plaza Drive. This project will serve as a connection between the Best Products Reimagined development and the Fall Line Trail. Improvements in addition to the trail include, but are not limited to: 

• Installing a crossing at the signalized intersection of Brook Road and Athens Avenue. 
• Construct a roundabout at the proposed development north of Scott Road.

Estimated Schedule:

Design is underway.  Right-of-way acquisition is anticipated to begin 2nd Quarter, 2026  Utility relocation is anticipated to begin 2027 Advertisement for construction is anticipated in 2027  Construction is anticipated to begin 2027

Progress to Date

A public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Henrico County North Park Library at 8508 Franconia Road in Henrico, Virginia.
