Employment Services Program

MH Employment Services provides vocational supports using The Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) model that incorporates more of a whole-team approach to assisting participants with their employment/education goals. This model decreases barriers for those with severe and persistent mental illness. The IPS approach highlights observation, rapid job search & assessment and active listening, while practicing zero exclusion. The program does not utilize a waitlist. MH Employment Services serves adults ages 18 and older diagnosed with a serious mental illness that have a case manager with ARS services. Vocational Services are provided to ARS individuals who have factors that interfere with daily functioning and ability to obtain and sustain employment without assistance. Participants have the opportunity to experience hands on assessments that determine strengths, skills, abilities and interests. 

The MH Employment Services office is primarily located at 5623 Lakeside Avenue, Henrico, VA. 23228 or Lakeside Center.  In addition to Lakeside Center, the work area encompasses other Agency offices and community sites throughout the Henrico County CSB catchment area.

Hours and days of operation are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm.  Job coaches are flexible and maintain availability for participants during evening, weekend and holiday hours for training and support on the job, as needed.
