Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Lakeside Center serves adults ages 18 and older diagnosed with a serious mental illness offering a variety of services for those wishing to gain or regain skills and confidence needed for recovery to occur.

 

Characteristics of the population served include the following:

  • A history of long-term or repeated psychiatric hospitalizations and continued risk of additional hospitalizations.
  • Social isolation as a result of a limited or nonexistent support system.
  • Difficulty establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • Lack of skills or supports needed to successfully participate in activities of daily living or community activities.
  • Exhibits difficulty in cognitive ability such that the person is unable to recognize personal danger or exhibits significantly inappropriate social behavior. Cognitive refers to the person’s ability to process information, problem-solve and consider alternatives, it does not refer to an individual with an intellectual or other developmental disability.

 

Hours and Days of Operation:

Lakeside Center operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the day program. Services are located at 5623 Lakeside Avenue. In addition, the social program operates two weekend days per month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
