Environmental Policy Statement
The County of Henrico has adopted an Environmental Policy Statement for County government operations and facilities. This statement provides the framework by which the County’s environmental efforts are conducted and focuses on three areas:
- Environmental compliance
- Pollution prevention
- Continual improvement
All persons working for the County of Henrico are required to abide by this Environmental Policy Statement.
Environmental Program Overview
The County of Henrico is committed to complying with the local, state, and federal environmental regulations that apply to its daily activities. These regulatory requirements are met by operating with integrity, credibility, and accountability.
Environmental & Sustainability Management System
The County of Henrico has an Environmental & Sustainability Management System (ESMS). This management system provides the tools to manage environmental compliance efforts and reduce environmental impacts efficiently and effectively. An ESMS allows an operation to identify, set, and achieve compliance and sustainability related goals.
Occupational Safety & Health Policy Statement
The County of Henrico is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, volunteers, and contractors who access County property and locations. This statement provides the framework by which the County’s occupational safety and health efforts along with Virginia Occupational Safety & Health (VOSH) standards are conducted.
