Urgent Need: McKinney-Vento – Thursday, July 18

The McKinney-Vento Team at Henrico County Public Schools is preparing for our
upcoming summer pop-up engagement/enrollment events. The primary objective of
these events is to establish connections with families residing in hotels throughout
Henrico County, ensuring they have the necessary resources for a smooth return to
school in the fall. While our planning efforts have been substantial, we are currently
seeking volunteers to assist on the day of these events.

Henrico CASA podcast, Vigilant Voices™

The Vigilant Voices™ podcast is hosted by Jeannine Panzera, Executive Director, and Kristin Blalock, Community Engagement Coordinator, of Henrico CASA. In their work with Court Appointed Special Advocates, they train and supervise volunteers who advocate for the best-interests of local children involved in the court and child welfare systems. Their experiences and observations led to the development of this podcast, where they will share their expertise on topics relevant to creating safe homes, healthy childhoods, and thriving communities.

Each episode of the podcast addresses challenging issues with a lens of hope, while sharing steps all of us can take to help vulnerable children and ideally prevent abuse and neglect.

“At Henrico CASA we always hope for the day when Court Appointed Advocates are no longer needed because all children are growing up safe, secure, and supported by their families,” said Executive Director, Jeannine Panzera. “For that day to come, everyone in our community needs to understand the part they play in supporting families and preventing child abuse.

” Vigilant Voices™ is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. Look for episodes to drop the first and third Tuesday of the month, starting March 7. More information on Henrico CASA’s mission, impact, and the Vigilant Voices™ podcast is available at www.HenricoCASA.org
