Fire Station 10 at 6313 Horsepen Road will be replaced with a new fire station located within the existing site. The work includes the design of a new 10,800 base square feet three-bay, drive-through fire station and associated living / support spaces, training, and a police precinct office plus patio and mezzanine and limited off-site drainage improvements along Horsepen Road and Crescent Parkway. The new station will replace the existing 4,950 square foot facility (built in 1962). The County is seeking LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for this project. Components contributing to LEED certification include energy efficient mechanical systems, water efficient plumbing fixtures, and sustainable building materials.
