Henrico Police Honor Guard Services

The Henrico Police Honor Guard was formally established in 1981 and serves as a representative of the Henrico County Division of Police. This duty encompasses a multitude of functions to include presenting and the posting of the American, Virginia, Henrico County, and Police Division flags at graduations, opening day events, and memorial ceremonies. Leaning on their motto of “Gone, But Not Forgotten”, the Henrico Police Honor Guard also plays an active role in coordinating with family and other organizations to ensure proper honors and support are given to fallen officers, military personnel, and their families both in Henrico County and throughout the state of Virginia.

Henrico Honor Guard members serve on the team in an extra-curricular duty capacity. Meaning that, unit duties, such as ceremonial requests, training, and equipment maintenance, are all done by members outside of their primary law enforcement responsibilities. Along with training quarterly throughout the year, the Henrico Honor Guard participates and hosts joint training sessions with other Honor Guards in the metro-Richmond area to include Fire, Rescue, and Sheriff teams. On average, the Henrico Honor Guard participates in over 65 assignments each year.
