The Henrico County Energy Management program strives to reduce energy use and cost in government, public schools, and public utilities operations. Since 2003, the program continues with its mission to develop Henrico County as a leader in sustainable energy use and to promote the importance of good energy management for the economic and environmental well-being of the county’s residents and employees.
Key efforts include:
- Tracking energy use and cost in all county buildings;
- Completing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects;
- Supporting green building design and construction for capital projects;
- Educating on energy and environmental issues.
The Energy Management program seeks to foster a culture of conservation, efficiency, and sustainability in the county. Henrico County holds public energy fairs every year to bring energy resources and education to Henrico citizens, businesses, and employees. Learn more about the energy fair in this video.
