‘Behind the Screen’ April 9 | Henrico Police Discussion on Internet Crimes Against Children

The Henrico County Police Division will host two information sessions on internet crimes against children in April.
In 2024, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received more than 546,000 reports of online enticement worldwide.
“Behind the Screen” is a Henrico Police Special Victims Unit (SVU) initiative focused on providing information to parents, guardians and caregivers to protect children in a digital world.
These information sessions are scheduled for:
- April 9, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Deep Run Recreation Center (Ridgefield Ballroom), 9900 Ridgefield Parkway; and
- April 14, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Eastern Henrico Recreation Center (Strawberry Hill Ballroom), 1440 N. Laburnum Avenue
Detectives will discuss some of the nationwide trends, apps children are using, prevention methods, and how to report child exploitation.
