Henrico Interfaith Network

The Henrico InterFaith Network is a collaborative initiative designed to strengthen partnerships between Henrico County and faith-based organizations. This network will serve as a bridge between local government and the diverse faith communities that play a vital role in the county’s social, spiritual, and civic fabric. By uniting leaders across denominations and traditions, the Henrico InterFaith Network will foster dialogue, shared learning, and collective action to address community needs and promote equity, trust, and belonging.

Vision

To cultivate a connected and empowered interfaith community that works alongside Henrico County to improve the quality of life for all residents—through service, collaboration, and mutual understanding.

Key Objectives
Moving forward, this initiative aims to:

  1. Develop a structured network of faith leaders who can serve as an advisory group for county-led community engagement initiatives.
  2. Create opportunities for collaboration between county departments and faith-based organizations on shared priorities such as public health, safety, education, housing, and emergency response.
  3. Host quarterly meetings or forums featuring county updates, training opportunities, and open dialogue where faith leaders can share successes, and provide advocacy support for one another.
  4. Establish shared community impact projects—such as outreach, resource fairs, and seasonal safety campaigns, etc.,—that faith groups can coordinate in partnership with Henrico County.
  5. Provide resources and toolkits to help faith-based organizations better support their congregations and surrounding communities.

Share an Invocation at a Henrico Board of Supervisors Meeting

As part of the Henrico InterFaith Network’s commitment to fostering inclusion, connection, and civic engagement, local faith leaders are invited to participate in Henrico County Board of Supervisors Meetings by offering the opening invocation.

Residents who serve as leaders of an organized group or congregation in Henrico County have the opportunity to deliver an invocation—up to two minutes in duration—at a Board meeting held on the second or fourth Tuesday of each month.

This is a meaningful way to represent your congregation, share words of reflection or encouragement, and contribute to Henrico’s tradition of community-centered governance.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to submit an online interest form to be considered for a future meeting.
