Community Events
3rd Annual Regional Recovery Day
Celebrate recovery and community at the 3rd Annual Regional Recovery Day.
Hosted in partnership by Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover counties and the City of Richmond, Regional Recovery Day brings communities across the region together to celebrate recovery and connect individuals and families with support.
This free event will feature live music, line dancing, guided yoga, food trucks, local vendors, community resources, healthcare providers and peer support groups. REVIVE! overdose prevention training and naloxone distribution will also be available.

Greater Richmond Insurance Industry Summit
Students, job seekers and professionals are invited to connect with insurance executives, hiring managers and emerging leaders at the Greater Richmond Insurance Industry Summit. Attendees can meet employers, explore in-demand skills and career opportunities, and build their professional networks. This event is free, and lunch is included.

Community Harvest Festival
Bring the family to a free Community Harvest Festival featuring Trunk or Treat, a chili cook-off, games and activities, a fire truck visit, door prizes, a prayer tent and canned food drive. Everyone is welcome!

Where Sparks Connect Community Event
Start 1 Spark invites business owners, volunteers and community members to learn how they can help Richmond-area middle school students participate in sports, music, arts and clubs. Meet the people behind the mission, hear from school staff and volunteers, explore current projects, and discover ways to get involved.

Operation Hours | Schedule
- The inclement weather (IWS) shelter operates from November 15 through April 15; this is NOT a year-round shelter.
- During the inclement weather season, the IWS is open from 5:00 PM-8:00 AM
- The IWS provides dinner and breakfast for shelter guests.
- Access to the shelter is on a first-come, first-served basis.
* Persisting conditions may extend hours.
