One thing we take pride in is our road system, and we strive to keep our roads well maintained. Drive Safety Tips

  • Obey the speed limits, doing so will ensure everyone’s safety
  • Wear your seat belt
  • Adjust all mirrors for best visibility
  • Turn signals to notify other drivers of your intent
  • Maintain a safe following distance. At least a 3 second gap between you and the driver ahead, in bad weather double the amount of seconds
  • Be a cautious and defensive driver
  • If you don’t feel comfortable driving in inclement weather (Snow, Rain, etc.) it’s okay to wait it out
  • Make sure to maintain a 3-foot space when passing a bicycle

Motorcycles

In Henrico County we take motorcycle safety very seriously. That’s why we tell all drivers to be cautious and always be aware of your surroundings. Riding a motorcycle comes with many risks so please be careful and courteous of your fellow two wheeled riders! Below are some tips on how to safely ride your motorcycle:

  • Always wear proper motorcycle gear (ex. gloves, jacket, jeans. etc)

(VDOT) maintains over 700 miles of interstates and major roadways in Henrico County. So In addition to Interstates 64, 95, and 295, VDOT maintains such roads as:
