About Henrico County Government
Henrico County borders the City of Richmond on the west, north and east, and lies between the James and Chickahominy rivers, and constitutes approximately a third of the Richmond metropolitan area. Based on the 2020 Census, 350,000 Henrico County residents live in a well-planned community of 244.12 square miles.
The five-member Board of Supervisors sets policies, approves ordinances and appoints the county manager. Voters in each magisterial district — Brookland, Fairfield, Three Chopt, Tuckahoe and Varina — elect a supervisor to a four-year term.
