The Dorey Park Farmers Market will kick off its second season Saturday, June 1, offering fresh produce and other goods for sale from local farmers and vendors.
The market, which operates in cooperation with the Henrico County Division of Recreation and Parks, will open at 9 a.m. and include a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. to dedicate a new pavilion and celebrate the start of the 2019 season. The opening and dedication ceremony will take place near the Dorey Recreation Center, 2999 Darbytown Road.
The market will feature a variety of farmers and vendors from the Varina area. Goods for sale will include fresh produce, honey, homemade jams and jellies, baked goods, candles, skincare products and jewelry. The market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Oct. 26.
Henrico officials will attend the June 1 opening with representatives of the Virginia Farmers Market Association and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The mission of the Dorey Park Farmers Market is to provide residents of eastern Henrico easy access to fresh and nutritious local produce and food along with crafts of the highest quality.
