On August 4, 2025, Henrico County announced plans to create a neighborhood park on Patterson Avenue. The wooded 6-acre property is located next to Maybeury Elementary School and the Tuckahoe Family YMCA.

The next step is to create a master plan for the site. To begin that process, the Division of Recreation & Parks hosted a public meeting and online survey to learn what the community would like to see on the site (which could include recreational amenities and connections to Maybeury E.S. and the YMCA).

In July 2026, the county will work with an architectural firm to develop potential plans for the new park based on the feedback received. Once complete, the proposed plan(s) will be shared at a community meeting and online. We anticipate being able to share these proposals in the fall and again, will welcome feedback from the community.

Community Meetings

The first community meeting was held on October 22, 2025 at Maybeury Elementary School (901 Maybeury Drive Henrico, VA 23229). Those in attendance were able to hear more about the park and also share their feedback. Those who were unable to attend can submit feedback using the link below.
