Meaningful Watershed Education Experience
In 2014, the Chesapeake Bay Agreement recommended that all “bay state” students receive a Meaningful Watershed Education Experience (MWEE) in elementary, middle and high school. Henrico County Public Schools has embraced this concept and has turned to Henricopolis education staff to work with fourth and sixth grade teachers to make it a reality.
A MWEE consists of three parts: inquiry-based field investigations, classroom based research and activities, and a student action designed and implemented to reduce pollution and improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed.
