Greenwood Road Improvements

The County of Henrico will be constructing road and pedestrian improvements along Greenwood Road from the Woodman Road intersection to approximately 800’ north of Branch Road to improve safety and increase pedestrian access and connectivity. The following improvements will be constructed, including:
- Road widening to accommodate a center turn lane
- 10-foot paved shared use path on the north side of the road
- 5-foot concrete sidewalk on the south side of the road
- Pedestrian crosswalks
- Curb and gutter, medians, and associated drainage improvements
Estimated Schedule:
- Design is underway.
- Right-of-way acquisition is underway.
- Utility relocation is anticipated to begin in 2028.
- Advertisement for construction is anticipated to begin in 2029.
- Construction is anticipated to begin in 2030.

- A Public Hearing was held on 4/17/2025, at the Hunton Community Center (Multipurpose Room), 11690 Old Washington Highway, Glen Allen, VA 23059, from 5:30pm to 7:00 PM. Materials for the meeting can be found in the Documents section below.
