Sadler Road Realignment & Improvements

The County of Henrico will be constructing the following improvements:
- A 1.9-mile section of Sadler Road between Dominion Boulevard and Cedar Forest Road will be widened and the alignment improved.
- The roadway will consist of two lanes, one in each direction with a center left turn lane, curb and gutter, and improved drainage.
- A shared use path for pedestrians and bicyclists will be constructed on the east side of the new roadway.
- The segment between Ireland Lane and Sadler Grove Road will be on a new alignment.
- Roundabouts are proposed at the intersections of Sadler Road and Innslake Drive, and at Sadler Road and Sadler Grove Road.
Estimated Schedule
- Design is complete.
- Right-of-way acquisition complete.
- Utility relocation is complete.
- Advertisement for construction is complete.
- Branch Civil, Inc. started construction 3rd Quarter, 2024.
Detour Information
Sadler Road will close to through traffic between Sadler Green Place to Willow Gate, beginning July 1st. The closure is expected to remain in place until the first or second week of September and will include small portions of Sadler Green Place and Trexler Road near their intersections with Sadler Road. Motorists are advised to follow posted detours.

- A Citizen Information Meeting for this project was held on November 9, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Church.
- A second Citizen Information Meeting was held for this project on September 24th, 2018.
- A Public Hearing for this project was held on July 25, 2019.
- A Public Information Meeting was held on November 16, 2021, at St. Anthony’s Church.
- A Public Information Meeting was held on November 10, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Church.
