Deputy County Manager for Public Safety

Michael Y. Feinmel began his career with Henrico County as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in 2001.  In 2006, he was promoted to Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney overseeing organized crime, narcotics, and human trafficking.  In 2022, Mr. Feinmel was named Deputy County Manager for Public Safety.  Currently, Mr. Feinmel has direct responsibilities over the Court Services units, Community Revitalization, Building Construction and Inspections, Hotel/Motel Task Force, and Criminal Justice associated agencies.

Mr. Feinmel earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from James Madison University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond.  He is also a graduate of Henrico Public Schools, having graduated from Douglas Freeman High School.  He is a past president of the Henrico County Bar Association and is a member of the Governor’s Commission to Prevent Human Trafficking and Support Services.
