Keep Henrico Beautiful, along with the Henrico County Division of Recreation & Parks, Dorey Park Farmers Market and Plant RVA Natives will hold the 2024 Plant Native! Festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Dorey Park, located at 2999 Darbytown Road.
The Plant Native! Festival is a celebration of native plants, the ecosystems they support and local organizations working hard to protect the environment. The event will host native plant vendors, information booths and food trucks. Entry is free.
For this year’s festival, Keep Henrico Beautiful will give away 450 1-gallon potted trees on a first-come, first-served basis. Each household may receive one tree. Attendees interested in the giveaway are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the conditions in their yard before the event. The tree varieties available for the giveaway include white oak, eastern redbud and witch hazel.
Dorey Park Farmers Market will also hand out vouchers for guests to redeem for native plants. Vouchers are only available to use at the festival and are limited to one per household.
