Henrico County’s parks, recreation centers, libraries and public-use areas will close at 4 p.m. today due to the incoming winter storm. Those facilities also will be closed Sunday.
Residents and other members of the public are encouraged to limit their travel as snow is expected beginning tonight and to prepare for roads to be impassable beginning Sunday morning. Power outages also are expected. Crews are ready to begin road clearing as soon as conditions warrant.
The public is asked to call 911 only for emergencies and the Police Division’s nonemergency number 804-501-5000 for other health and safety needs.
The Emergency Operations Center has been activated, and officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and respond as community needs evolve.
