Residents and other members of the public are urged to avoid travel and to prepare for likely power outages. Crews have mobilized to begin clearing primary and secondary roads.

The public is asked to call 911 only for emergencies and the Police Division’s nonemergency number 804-501-5000 for other health and safety needs.

The Emergency Operations Center remains active, and officials continue to monitor weather conditions and respond as community needs evolve. If a need arises to open an emergency shelter or shelters, details will be announced as soon as they are finalized. The county is preparing for several potential scenarios.

Trash pickup will not occur Monday and will resume as soon as conditions warrant. The Springfield Road and Charles City Road public-use areas also will be closed.
