Henrico residents have two more chances to shape the county’s vision for its future before the Draft 2045 HenricoNEXT comprehensive plan advances for formal review and adoption.

The Department of Planning will hold open-house community meetings on the draft plan Tuesday, June 2 at the Deep Run Recreation Center, 9900 Ridgefield Parkway, and Thursday, June 4 at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N. Laburnum Ave. Residents and other community members are encouraged to attend anytime from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. to ask questions and share their feedback.

Details of the draft plan, including its chapters and subchapters, are available at henriconext.us.

“Throughout the HenricoNEXT planning process, the community has played a vital role in helping to craft a vision for what Henrico County can and should become over the next two decades,” Planning Director Joe Emerson said. “As we prepare to enter what could be the final stages of review, we encourage the public to remain actively engaged.”

The Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the draft plan at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 11 in the Board Room at the Henrico County Government Center, 4301 E. Parham Road. Once the Planning Commission’s review is complete, the draft plan will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final review and adoption.
