Keep Henrico Beautiful to host fifth-annual Plant Native! Festival

Keep Henrico Beautiful and the Henrico County Department of Recreation & Parks will hold the 2026 Plant Native! Festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road.

The Plant Native! Festival is a celebration of native plants, the ecosystems they support and local organizations working hard to protect the environment. This year’s festival will include workshops by local experts on gardening and other related topics, kids’ crafts and an Insect Costume Showcase and Parade for children 12 and under.

Keep Henrico Beautiful will give away 750 1-gallon potted trees on a first-come, first-served basis at the festival. Each household may receive one tree. Attendees interested in the giveaway are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the conditions in their yard before the event. The tree varieties available for the giveaway include Canadian serviceberry, fringetree, northern red oak, persimmon and sweet bay magnolia.

Courtesy of HEART, $10 vouchers will be available for guests to redeem for native plants. Vouchers are only available to use at the festival and are limited to one per person.
