Project Description
The County of Henrico will be constructing the following improvements along the eastern side of N Laburnum Avenue between Harvie Elementary School and previous Henrico County Fairfield Library:
- Approximately 2,250 linear feet of 5’ wide sidewalk, curb ramps and crosswalks.
- Approximately 900 linear feet of new curb and gutter and storm drainage system.
- Lane widening of approximately 9’ to match adjacent pavement widths in some locations, a wooden bridge to avoid extending two box culverts.
- Improvements to two bus stops that could include shelters and other amenities.
- Ten dedicated park and ride spaces will be identified in the parking lot of the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center.
Estimated Schedule
- Design is underway.
- Right-of-way acquisition began 3rd Quarter, 2025.
- Utility relocation is anticipated to begin 4th Quarter, 2026.
- Advertisement for construction is anticipated for 2027.
- Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027.
