Project Description
This project will begin development of the Tuckahoe Park Master Plan adopted by the Henrico Board of Supervisors in 2008 and amended and approved again April 14, 2021- POD2021-00159. The amended master plan by consultants CHA and HG Design incorporated an additional 2.62 acres into the previously approved park master plan. Funding for this project is from Henrico’s voter-approved 2016 Bond Referendum.
On August 25, 2026 the Board of Supervisors awarded a contract to begin the improvements to Tuckahoe Park. The project will add two fully accessible restrooms, one paved parking lot with accessible parking, site lighting, as well as a curb, gutter and storm sewer system. Asphalt multiuse trails, sidewalks and a pedestrian bridge will link the existing athletic fields to a new accessible playground.
Kenbridge Construction Co. is expected to start construction in September 2026, with an anticipated completion date in spring 2028.
