The Libbie Mill Library of Henrico County Public Library, located at 2100 Libbie Lake East Street, near the intersection of Staples Mill and Bethlehem Roads, will host a community celebration in honor of the opening of the library on Thursday, October 29, from 6-9 p.m. All are invited to attend this free event.
The library will be open for business 9 a.m. on Friday, October 30.
The Libbie Mill Library replaces the Dumbarton Area Library which will permanently close its doors at 6 p.m., Saturday, October 17. The state-of-the-art Libbie Mill Library will feature a digital media lab with 3-D printers; a drive-up service window and book return; a large, separate teen area; a dedicated children’s story time/programming room; group collaboration spaces; a large meeting room with updated technology; a quiet reading room; study rooms; more public use computers and devices; an updated collection; and an interactive video wall showcasing the history of the Henrico Shire. This Henrico County construction project was made possible by the 2005 Henrico Bond Referendum.
